One of the starts in the 2023 Moto2 season was Fermín Aldeguer. With the last-minute changes in the MotoGP grid triggered by Marc Márquez’s departure from Repsol Honda, he was close to moving up to the premier class next year but will compete in Moto2 again.
The Spanish rider from SpeedUp admitted to Moto.it that it wasn’t an easy situation to accept. Nevertheless, he is also excited with Moto2, believing that he can fight for the title and open up other opportunities as a result:
– All this left a bitter taste in my mouth, but ultimately things happen for a reason. Perhaps next year is our time to fight for the title. Being a champion always opens several doors. I was close to moving up, it’s true, and the decision was not mine; it was made by others, and it’s hard to accept. But in the end, I am sure I will enjoy it.
