Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli are allegedly set to be the riders for Pertamina Enduro VR46 in MotoGP in 2025. If confirmed, this would likely mark Fermín Aldeguer’s debut with Gresini, as Álex Márquez’s teammate.
This morning, Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi told Canal+ that VR46 would have a factory bike for Di Giannantonio and a Desmosedici GP24 for Morbidelli. However, VR46 team director Uccio Salucci clarified that no contracts have been signed yet, though the intention is to have both Italian riders.
If these plans materialize as expected, Aldeguer will likely make his MotoGP debut with Gresini in 2025. The current Moto2 rider has a contract with Ducati that includes a promotion to the premier class with a satellite team next year — though by 2026, he will need to be on the current version of the bike.
Despite Aldeguer already being announced as a MotoGP rider for 2025, it’s not entirely out of the question that Ducati might reconsider.
