Racer Raul Fernandez, part of Trackhouse Racing Aprilia, recently shared the extent of his injuries from a crash that occurred during testing at Sepang. Despite sustaining fractures to his hip and pelvis, Fernandez expressed his appreciation for the medical team of MotoGP, who assisted in his recovery in time for the Lusail test. The crash took place at the same corner where reigning world champion Pecco Bagnaia also experienced a crash, although Bagnaia was able to walk away unharmed. Unfortunately, Fernandez’s injuries have impacted the start of his season, leading him to withdraw from the test. However, he expressed gratitude towards MotoGP’s medical team and the Quironprevencion team, who have taken over as the paddock’s rehabilitation specialists in place of the Clinica Mobile. Fernandez noted that his recovery has been quicker than anticipated, allowing him to participate in the upcoming MotoGP test. Despite the setback, Fernandez is relieved to have the opportunity to focus on the 2023 machine, which he is already familiar with from previous tests. He emphasized the importance of the test in regaining his mental speed and evaluating his physical condition. Fernandez’s primary objective is to avoid any reckless actions and make the most of his time on the track. (Source: the-race.com)
