At 42 years old, and with over 20 years of career, Fernando Alonso does not intend to retire in Formula 1. Despite stopping in 2019 and 2020 to pursue other challenges, he maintains his motivation and competitiveness intact – as demonstrated by the several podiums achieved already this year.
The Aston Martin Spaniard assured the British GQ that it is not time to put an end to his trajectory, assuming that he still has the goal of winning races again:
– I would love to achieve my 33rd victory. It is a number that I see everywhere and I would love to have it. I feel fresh, I feel fast and I am enjoying the journey with Aston Martin. I feel motivated. It is not yet time for me to retire.
