Fiat has revealed a set of prototypes, inspired by the Panda, which anticipate the arrival of a new range of models to the market as early as July this year, followed by the launch of a new model every year for the next three years.
The new range from the Italian brand was announced in a video by Fiat’s CEO and Stellantis’ global CMO, Olivier François, who revealed the five concepts that will be based on the same multi-energy platform, the first of which is the City Car, a larger model than the current Panda, a kind of “Mega-Panda,” which also features a design inspired by the birthplace of the brand: the iconic Lingotto building.
Fiat designers drew inspiration from some of Lingotto’s special features when creating a new design language, including structural lightness, space optimization, and brightness. Meanwhile, the oval shape of the “La Pista 500” on the roof has left its mark on some of the interior aspects of the new model, from the instrument panel to the screen and seats.
The elevated driving position and robust design make this city car model a great companion for weekend trips and family vacations.
The second concept is the Fiat Strada, the best-selling vehicle in Brazil, which the brand believes can expand the success of this pickup globally, particularly in Europe.
The Italian brand also revealed a large fastback, the “heir” of the Fiat Fastback and the Fiat Tipo, which is based on the same modular platform and has a sporty touch.
The new Fiat range also includes a family SUV, which Fiat says is a kind of “Giga-Panda” that promises to strengthen the brand’s commitment to meeting the needs of family transportation.
The last of the prototypes revealed by the Italian brand is a kind of SUV transformed into a “caravan” that positions itself as a “vehicle for everything” betting on the versatility of a car made for the city with the characteristics of an SUV, with a robust style and off-road tires, for all kinds of adventures.
“We are excited to share this glimpse of our future; in fact, a very near future, as the first car will be presented within four months as part of the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the brand. This car will be followed by a new model every year,” says Olivier François.
