Marco Bezzecchi arrives at the Catalunya GP in 10th place in the MotoGP world championship, just behind his teammate Fabio Di Giannantonio in 9th place overall.
In a debrief, the Italian rider spoke about his expectations for the weekend, after suffering a crash at Le Mans that left him out of the points.
– I don’t have any expectations yet, I hope to start the weekend in a good way. At Le Mans I was fast, but in the end I couldn’t bring anything home. It’s a tricky track for grip, but also for front grip and the front tire, so I hope I can use that as an advantage for me.
Confronted with waiting for Ducati’s decision to choose the next rider for the factory team, Bezz replied: ‘I’m not upset about not being mentioned. They’re better than me at the moment, I don’t blame anyone. Of course, after last year I deserved a factory bike, but I don’t blame anyone. Right now my goal is to come back stronger, and by doing that I’ll have a better chance of getting a factory bike, which is the goal of every rider in MotoGP. At the moment, Martín, Marc and Bastianini deserve more. For me, Martín deserves the seat more, he fought for the title last year and is leading the championship this year with a good lead. He’s very fast anyway, I think he’s the fastest of the Ducati riders at the moment, Pecco is also doing very well. Overall, all eight Ducati riders are very fast. Pecco at the moment is still “carburizing”, in my opinion.’
