BYD has revealed the first images of the pick-up truck that is expected to hit the Chinese market in May and later on global markets.
In the first images now revealed, the BYD pick-up truck, which will have two variants, a plug-in hybrid and a 100% electric one, appears with orange and blue camouflage, LED signature lighting, muscular bumpers, and a double cab.
Little is known about this new BYD proposal, which in the plug-in hybrid version is expected to have a range of about 1000 km. In electric mode, the autonomy of the new Chinese brand pick-up truck is expected to be around 100 km.
As for the 100% electric version, it is still a mystery, but everything points to it using high-capacity Blade batteries and featuring a version equipped with two electric motors for better off-road performance.
What is certain is that the BYD pick-up truck aims to compete in a segment that already includes models like the Ford Ranger and F-150 Lightning, as well as the Toyota Hilux and Tesla’s Cybertruck.
