BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of electrified vehicles, has announced that it has chosen the Geneva International Motor Show, which takes place from February 26 to March 3, for the debut of the brand’s first plug-in hybrid model in Europe, with Super Dual Mode (DM) technology.
This is the Seal U DM-i, a PHEV variant of the 100% electric SUV that will arrive in the national market at the end of the first semester.
It is already known that the plug-in hybrid variant uses a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, which produces 109 hp, combined with a 197 hp electric motor that is powered by an 18.3 kWh battery, and allows a 100% electric mode range of up to 110 km. In addition, the Seal U DM-i can be equipped with an optional 26.6 kWh battery, which provides an electric range of 150 km.
In addition to the Seal U plug-in hybrid version, BYD will showcase the revamped Tang, the impressive 7-seater fully electric SUV, as well as the U8, a luxury SUV from the YangWang sub-brand, and the N7, a new 100% electric model from the premium Denza sub-brand.
