A Peugeot announced that it will integrate ChatGPT technology into its range of passenger and light commercial vehicles starting in the second half of 2024.
The well-known generative artificial intelligence system will be integrated into the i-Cockpit, through the voice assistant « ok Peugeot », and will be able to answer numerous questions and requests on various topics.
Generative artificial intelligence can both answer specific questions and refer to which monuments to visit in a city, present them, and take drivers to them, in a coordinated process with the navigation system.
The announcement of the integration of ChatGPT in Peugeot’s new models, which will be available from the new E-3008 in five pilot markets (France, Germany, United Kingdom, Spain, and Italy), before a wider implementation starting in the second half of 2024, was made by Linda Jackson, CEO of the French brand, during another edition of Peugeot E-Lion Day, an annual event that serves to report some news from the Sochaux house.
The French brand, which aims to become the leader in the European electric market, has announced that it will launch a range of 12 100% electric models, nine of which are passenger vehicles, with a highlight on the arrival this year of the E-3008, E-408, and E-5008.
To meet the needs of customers, Peugeot is committed to offering electric autonomy at the best level on the market. As examples, the new E-3008 will have a range of up to 700 km, while the new E-208 has a range of up to 566 km.
The E-LION project is at the center of Peugeot’s strategy for building sustainable mobility for the future, through a global, 360° approach that goes far beyond vehicle electrification and is based on five pillars: Product and service ecosystem based on Stellantis solutions; Complete customer experience from start to finish; Electric, with a 100% electric range by the end of 2024; Efficiency, offering maximum performance with minimum electricity consumption; and Environment, aiming for sustainability and a Carbon Net Zero commitment by 2038.
« With the E-LION project, Peugeot mobilizes all its technological knowledge and all the creativity of its teams to provide access to sustainable mobility for all its customers. As leaders, we want to set an example. It is an incredibly rewarding task. », said Linda Jackson, CEO of Peugeot during the presentation.
In order to accelerate the journey towards electric mobility and demonstrate confidence in the quality of its models, Peugeot also announced that it offers customers of the new E-3008 the « Peugeot Allure Care », a program that guarantees the electric motor, charger, powertrain, and major electrical and mechanical components for up to 8 years or 160,000 km.
This program, launched in the main European markets, is added to the specific warranty offered by Peugeot for all the batteries of its electric vehicles, also valid for a period of eight years or 160,000 km.
« We believe that Peugeot Allure Care will accelerate the adoption of the latest generation of 100% electric vehicles, providing customers with the peace of mind they need to make the leap to electric mobility », said Phil York, Director of Marketing and Communication at Peugeot.
