Porsche had already confirmed that the future 911 will feature a 3.8-liter hybrid turbo engine capable of producing over 700 hp, and now revealed that the new model will be presented on May 28th.
After an extensive development and testing program, the new 911 with performance-focused hybrid propulsion is ready for series production.
« For the first time in the 61-year history of our icon, we will introduce a hybrid propulsion system in a road-going 911. This innovative performance hybrid system makes the 911 even more dynamic, » says Frank Moser, Vice President Model Line 911 and 718.
Tested in all kinds of adverse conditions, from intense cold to scorching heat, as was the case during the final testing phases in Dubai, the new hybrid 911 also went through the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in Germany, where it proved to be faster than its predecessor by completing a lap of the German track in 7:16.934 minutes, which is 8.7 seconds faster than the same version of the predecessor model.
“Le nouveau 911 est devenu considérablement plus rapide sur circuit”, a souligné l’ambassadeur de Porsche Jörg Bergmeister, qui était au volant du nouveau 911 à Nürburgring. “Nous avons plus de traction, beaucoup plus de puissance et la réponse immédiate du système hybride est un grand avantage”.
