Ducati was superior on the first day of MotoGP testing in Losail, but the competitors were not far behind. Francesco Bagnaia set the fastest time, in a top five with three Ducati, one Aprilia, and one KTM.
The best times came in the last two hours, already in the nighttime. On his 36th of 51 laps, Bagnaia (Ducati) set the benchmark time of the day at 1m52.040s. Other riders came close until the end, with Jorge Martín (Pramac Racing/Ducati) finishing second 0.220s behind.
Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia) and Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM) were third and fourth, respectively, with laps completed in the final minutes. Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team/Ducati) completed the top five 0.427s behind Bagnaia, with Maverick Viñales (Aprilia) in sixth.
Johann Zarco (LCR Honda) led the best RC213V in ninth, while Fabio Quartararo was tenth and the best from Monster Energy Yamaha. Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GasGas Tech3/KTM), with 73 laps, accumulated the most kilometers, finishing 11th. Closely behind, Marc Márquez (Gresini Racing/Ducati), who was in the top five at some point, finished 16th.
