If you plan to refuel your car, it’s best to wait a few more days as fuel prices are set to drop again next Monday, which if confirmed will be the third consecutive week of falling gasoline and diesel prices.
According to “ECO”, on Monday, May 13, the price of regular gasoline 95 is expected to drop by 3 cents per liter to an average price of €1.756 per liter.
Meanwhile, regular diesel, the most commonly used fuel in Portugal, is expected to drop by half a cent per liter, to €1.565.
If these predictions come true, it will be the third consecutive week of falling fuel prices. This week, diesel prices have dropped by two cents and gasoline prices by 2.2 cents, meeting market expectations.
The economic publication reports that these prices already take into account discounts applied by fuel companies and the revision of temporary fiscal measures to help mitigate the increase in fuel prices. The tax reduction determined by the current measures in place is 25 cents per liter of diesel and 26 cents per liter of gasoline.
