The trend of increasing fuel prices will continue next week and everything points to gasoline and diesel registering an increase for the third consecutive week.
According to market sources, in the early hours of next Monday, February 5th, the price of regular gasoline 95 is expected to increase by 2.5 cents per liter, to an average price of €1.688 per liter, while the price of regular diesel, the most used fuel in Portugal, is expected to rise by 3 cents to an average price of €1.609 per liter.
If these increases are confirmed, it is necessary to go back to the end of November 2023 to find higher prices for gasoline and diesel.
These prices already take into account the discounts applied by the gas stations and the revision of temporary tax measures to help mitigate the increase in fuel prices. The tax reduction determined by the currently in force measures is 25 cents per liter of diesel and 26 cents per liter of gasoline.
