GASGAS Tech3 left the last GP, Le Mans with ‘a huge bitter taste’ following Pedro Acosta’s crash, with the Team Manager of Herve’s Poncharal to recall that it easy to forget that the rookie is exactly that, on his debut season, even more as he was certain he could do well on sunday’s race.
Nicolas Goyon confirmed he had a weird taste him his mouth after Acosta crashed on sunday, saying: ‘A huge bitter taste this year. Pedro Acosta was feeling really good in the morning, he was fastest in the Warm Up. In the race, the feeling was also good, and he was fighting for the front, but he made an early mistake and crashed’.
At that moment there was a lot of disappointment on the french team box, as there was the clear feeling that Acosta could have done really well: ‘There is some frustration, because there was potential to do well’.
Goyon also made sure to remember that Acosta is still new to the class, and that he will return even better, and stronger: ‘Sometimes we forget that he is a rookie, and it is only his first mistake this season, and I am sure that it will help him bounce back even better, and make him a stronger rider’.
