This Monday, Jorge Martín was announced as Aprilia’s MotoGP rider for 2025 – which will mean his departure from Prima Pramac Racing at the end of this season, something the team had been counting on for a long time.
The Spaniard made his debut in the premier class in 2021 with Pramac and his growth has been remarkable – after overcoming a serious injury suffered early in his debut season, he fought for the title for the first time last year, finishing second, and this year he has come back stronger and is leading the championship after seven rounds.
Following the announcement, Pramac marked the farewell that will take place at the end of the season. Team manager Gino Borsoi was full of praise for Martín: ‘I am grateful and proud to work with Jorge: one of the strongest and most talented riders I have ever met’, he said quoted by MotoGP.com.
The Italian stressed his commitment to the rider for the rest of the season: ‘From now on, we continue to give our best to achieve the maximum together remaining focused on this season, which has started wonderfully. I hope that Jorge, having decided about his future, can enjoy the rest of the season with us’.
