The Republican National Guard (GNR) is carrying out an operation focused on the use of seat belts, helmets, and child restraint systems from today until March 17.
This operation is part of the European Road Police Network (RoadPol) and is focused on the most critical roads throughout the mainland national territory.
The GNR emphasizes that with this action, “it also aims to raise awareness in society for safer behaviors by drivers and passengers, with a view to promoting road safety and safeguarding human lives”.
“The seat belt, the child restraint system (SRC), are passive safety devices for occupants of a motor vehicle, which aim, in the event of a road accident, to prevent them from being projected out of the vehicle or into its interior parts, reducing the occurrence of injuries or their severity. In the case of motorized two-wheel vehicles, the helmet absorbs part of the energy and disperses the impact force so that the force is not concentrated in a single part of the head, reducing the risk of death in the event of an accident by 40%”, highlights the GNR.
