The first of the two Grasser Racing drivers for the upcoming DTM season is already known. It is Christian Engelhart, who was recently announced as a factory driver for Lamborghini – whose Huracán GT3 EVO2 cars are entrusted to the team in that championship.
At 36 years old, the German is no stranger to Grasser or the DTM: this year he already competed in the last round with the team, achieving a podium. Before that, he was part of Toksport WRT until the Nürburgring round, achieving a victory aboard a Porsche. Between 2017 and 2019, he drove a Lamborghini for Grasser in the GT World Challenge Europe.
In a statement, Engelhart commented: ‘I immediately had a good feeling when I returned to GRT for the last round of the DTM in Hockenheim, and this was confirmed by the podium. Competing in the DTM full-time next year as a Lamborghini Squadra Corse factory driver with GRT is very emotional and fills me with great pride. I would like to thank Gottfried [Grasser], Lamborghini, and all partners for the trust they have placed in me. Together we will do everything we can to maximize our success. I can’t wait to finally start’.
