Hamilton expressed his surprise and disappointment, noting that the car had felt great throughout the weekend, but the speed seemed to disappear during qualifying. He attributed the problem to the soft tires not performing as expected and denied making any changes to his car’s setup between sessions. Russell, on the other hand, also failed to improve on his last qualifying attempt, despite using worn tires.
