Just over a week ago, Aprilia announced Jorge Martín as one of its MotoGP riders for 2025. This move aims to finally get the team into the title fight, with a rider who currently leads the championship and was the runner-up last year.
Max Biaggi praised the acquisition of the Spanish rider, stating to Moto.it: ‘I believe that the most was done in acquiring the rider. Because we still thought that Márquez would go to Ducati at 99 percent and, in theory, Martín – also the leader of the 2024 World Championship – was perhaps an unexpected choice’.
The former rider expressed his excitement about Martín joining Aprilia: ‘Bringing him in is an enormous satisfaction. We have last year’s runner-up, the current leader of the 2024 World Championship. It’s like touching the sky with a finger’.
With a high-level rider in the team, the level of responsibility is significant, as Biaggi emphasized: ‘Now there are no excuses, the rider is there and has shown to be strong in every way. We have to give him a decidedly competitive bike, as I believe Aprilia is, and hope that it remains consistently competitive’.
