KTM has reiterated multiple times that their priority is to work with their current riders in MotoGP, showing less concern for market movements even as many contracts come to an end.
Brad Binder is secured with the Austrian constructor until 2026, while Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GasGas Tech3/KTM) seems poised to join the factory team next year. Less certain are the futures of Augusto Fernández (Red Bull GasGas Tech3/KTM) and Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM), whose contracts are expiring.
Marc Márquez (Gresini) is also in the final year of his contract and was spotted entering the KTM facilities in the paddock at the MotoGP Italian GP this Friday. While KTM is not completely ruling out the possibility of signing the eight-time world champion, the potential move carries both benefits and risks.
Speaking to DAZN, KTM team manager Francesco Guidotti emphasized that there are both advantages and potential dangers in having the Spanish rider on the team. He also noted that market rumors do not always translate into actual changes:
– I think at this moment there are opportunities both for the riders and the teams, and we know that every two years this can happen. But we’ve also seen so many times in the past where it seemed like something had to happen, and then everything remained the same. […]. Having Marc could be good for performance, but in other aspects, it could be dangerous.
