Following on from the improvements incorporated into the 2023 models, the main novelties for this year focus on aesthetic changes and the improvement of some of its components. From its most competition-oriented model, the Cota 301RR, to the Cota 4RT260R, exclusivity remains the guiding principle.
Montesa Cota 301RR 2024
The Cota 301RR remains the flagship Montesa model. Its high-quality components are now combined with a new aesthetic design. This top-of-the-range Montesa model will continue to be available in two color options. On the one hand, there will be the new Fighting Red color, which replaces the previous Atmosphere Blue Metallic. This new decoration features a fine reticulated texture in red, blue and white, achieving a matt effect. This design perfectly integrates the wheel stickers and the result is an eye-catching look that adds originality and exclusivity, inspired by the spectacular HRC tricolor paintwork. The red-finish frame rails are also part of the new design, highlighting all the personality of this competition-oriented model. In addition to this option, the Cota 301RR will also be available in Race Replica livery, a model almost identical to the livery of Toni Bou’s world champion bike. This model has now been updated with a new design that highlights the addition of the aforementioned red crossbars.
In addition to the design, we can find an improvement in the tables on the 2024 model, now finished in titanium gray, lighter and stronger, based on competition experience.
The 301RR is the most powerful Cota of the series-built models. It is a model designed for competition, hence its RR (Race Ready) designation. The model has all the proven experience inherited from the racing bikes used by Montesa riders in the World Trial Championship, from which it adopts most of its components and technical solutions.
And, of course, the Cota 301RR inherits the engine from the bike that participates in the Trial2 World Championship.
The Cota 301RR is still based on a lightweight aluminum frame and swingarm with proven reliability and performance. The brake discs at the front and rear are wavy, as found on racing bikes, and the rear unit is FIM-approved. This results in more bite and greater braking power in both systems. This model also features wheel hubs machined from lightweight aluminum, a solution that saves a significant amount of weight. In keeping with the similarities with the Montesa World Trial bikes, this model is equipped with an aluminum silencer, which increases resistance and performance.
Montesa Cota 4RT260R 2024
For its part, the Cota 4RT260R is now available in a new red paint job, combined with black and gray. This new decoration features a fine reticulated texture with a matt effect. The anodized black frame features new grey and red graphics, which emphasize the full Montesa character and combine perfectly with the new red crossbar, giving the Cota a new look. Following the line of the Cota 301RR, the design of the high resistance stickers has been updated to give greater protection to the part of the frame where the boots “rub” the most. The same design that has been adapted for the exhaust and filter protection stickers also incorporates new stickers for the wheels, just like its big sister, the Cota 301RR. In the riding position, the Cota 260R now features new handlebars and grips.
The Cota 4RT260R is equipped with the most premium components, just like the Cota 301RR. Thus, this model is equipped with high-quality Showa suspension, front and rear.
Montesa 4RIDE 2024
In addition to its more touring models, Montesa has also announced changes to the popular 4RIDE, a model intended for trial touring. Aesthetically, the design of the 2023 model has been retained. However, some of the improvements incorporated into its sister Cota 4RT260R have been adopted, such as the handlebars and grips. The most significant change for the 4RIDE is the new R16V front suspension, which can be adjusted in preload and extension.
It should also be noted that the entire Montesa range is manufactured exclusively and for the whole world at Montesa Honda’s modern facilities in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, Barcelona. All production processes are carried out in this factory, including engine assembly, plastic injection molding, the manufacture of the frame, tank and swingarm, all in aluminum, and processes that guarantee the brand’s highest quality standards.
