Raúl Fernández achieved one of his best qualifying results of the MotoGP season this Saturday, finishing third. As a result, he will start from the front row in both races of the German GP at Sachsenring.
In an interview with the official broadcast, the Trackhouse Racing rider began by praising his team: ‘In the end I got to be here in parc fermé. It’s true that is my second first row this year. I’m really happy for the team, it’s unbelievable. I’m happy for Justin [Marks, team owner], for Davide [Brivio, team principal] – they did a really good job during this first part of the year to bring us a really good bike’.
Despite Aprilia showing great competitiveness at Sachsenring, Fernández admitted that this result was unexpected after the struggles he faced on Friday:
– Honestly I didn’t expect it, because yesterday I had a lot of problems with the bike, I couldn’t go fast. But, anyway, today I’m happy, I think it was a super good lap, but I had margin because in the second lap I was improving but I had a yellow flag. Anyway I’m happy, we did a really good step, the pace is good, so let’s go to enjoy.
