Pedro Acosta started his MotoGP debut on the right foot. Despite the rain, the Spanish rider finished 3rd overall in the second free practice session.
The rookie showed all his potential and in his debrief explained what happened during the first day of practice:
– ‘I wasn’t expecting this start. I came here with no expectations. I’m just trying to enjoy it, but in the end you can see that I’m happy with how I’m doing. Four years ago I was close to losing a contract to get here and today I’m in MotoGP’.
The Spanish rider also talked about what he has to improve on from last year, despite being in a new category.
– ‘I think I have more strength in my arms now and I can pull the bike if I lose it in the corners. I remember last year in Argentina it was horrible, we started very badly, but then in Australia I was fast again and I was able to be competitive. Right now I need time, everything comes easily. We need to keep working as hard as we can.
