Pedro Acosta finished the Le Mans GP early after crashing on the second lap. The Spanish driver entered the corner too quickly and ended up losing the front as he tried to overtake Fabio Di Giannantonio. Acosta is now fifth in the MotoGP world championship.
In a debrief, the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 rider spoke about his race incident.
– We made a good start, but we have to analyze what happened at the front, I didn’t want to hit Aleix, I was already going very fast when I tried to stop and the front blocked. The potential of the bike today was very high, the team was working all night to fix the problems we have with the rear and today it was working very well. Ducati has something else, but it’s not from now, it’s from the past, but we’re getting very close. Crashing here again is becoming a tradition, but anyway it is what it is. Every season we’ve come here we’ve been fast, but we can make mistakes.
Asked about the weekend in general, Acosta replied: ‘We were fast in FP1, PR, qualifying in FP3, in the Sprint we got points, the biggest problem was taking data in the Warm Up, for me the KTM we’ve had is here so far in the championship. We have confidence in the bike, we’re not falling off too much, it was the first time, we’re on the right track and we’re closer to the other riders. I had a lot of problems today to be an inspiration to the others.
