Honda was one of the less competitive manufacturers in the Qatar MotoGP Grand Prix. Despite the development it underwent, the RC213V still has some shortcomings, undergoing a lengthy recovery process.
Lucio Cecchinello, owner of the LCR satellite team, believes that the scenario may be slightly better at the Portuguese GP. The Italian mentioned that the circuit’s characteristics may narrow the gaps:
– Since there aren’t very long straights in Portimão, it might be a track where we can be closer to the best lap times. We saw in Qatar that we were losing out in the fast and long corners, and sometimes we also lacked something in terms of top speed. Portimão isn’t an easy track in principle, but it’s a track where I hope we’ll be much less far away.
