Francesco Bagnaia finished the MotoGP Japanese Grand Prix race in second place. However, the outcome could have been less favorable for the Ducati rider, who narrowly avoided a crash just before the red flag.
In a press conference, the reigning champion talked about the spots of the track that were worst with the accumulated water and he revealed that he was near the crash where Johann Zarco fell:
– The main straight, then after the turn two, then the long straight after the turn ten – the turn ten maybe was the worst. And where [Johann] Zarco crashed there was a river of standing water and it was quite tricky. When we finished the lap of the red flag I risked to crash there because I entered like the lap before and I lost a bit the rear.
