Aleix Espargaró secured the third place to start the both races of the MotoGP Indonesian GP. In the qualifying at Mandalika, the man from Aprilia was beaten by his teammate Maverick Viñales and Luca Marini (Mooney VR46 Racing Team/Ducati).
Asked if this result is what he needs before the races, the Spaniard said to the official broadcast he is happy with his performance, despite his goal was to start from pole position:
– Not exactly, I was aiming for the pole. But I’m happy, I’m satisfied. Sincerelly I’m enjoying a lot this weekend, you have to accept the things as they come. I’m really happy about my feelings with the bike, especially in the practice three [FP2] with used tyres. And then in the qualifying I knew I had some riders behind, but I just focused on my ride. I just made a small mistake in corner 16 and I was completely wide. But I take it, I’m happy, I’m enjoying, so, keep going!
