After stating that he would not like to see Toprak Razgatlioglu at Honda, Luca Marini gave the example of Jorge Lorenzo and his arrival at the Japanese manufacturer where he formed a true Dream Team with Marc Márquez, but where the expected results did not materialize.
The Italian, who is in his first year with Honda, reflected on the entry of riders from other teams, but who did not always perform well:
– Lorenzo is an incredible talent and if he had stayed with Ducati he would have won two world titles. But when he arrived at Honda he failed to bring that “extra” that everyone expected. In fact, he had a lot of difficulties here. You don’t have to adopt a different philosophy, but the one you win in MotoGP with and the one that the other teams follow too.
Lorenzo was with Ducati for two years, with the first not being positive, and as soon as his departure from the Italian manufacturer was announced, he won immediately.
