The Superbike World Championship is about to return after a (almost) two month break, and will be this weekend at Misano World Circuit ‘Marco Simoncelli’. One of the riders that is currently having a few issues is Iker Lecuona, who is looking forward to come back to racing, wanting to ‘reap the benefits’ of the last tests at the circuit.
On a team statement, the spaniard, currently with just three points added in the championship, began by recalling the last tests: ‘We arrive at Misano with mixed feelings, coming from a test that was not bad overall but left us wanting more. This was partly due to the fluctuating weather conditions, which affected the testing schedule, and also because, despite some objective improvements, we are not yet where we want to be’.
Coming to the italian track, part of the work, setup wise, may be already done: ‘Having said that, we have a base setup for this track, and the team has continued working tirelessly since the Misano test. So, let’s wait and see what conditions we will find this week and if we will be able to reap the benefits of the work completed during the test’.
