The World Superbike season didn’t start well for Iker Lecuona. The Team HRC rider suffered a shoulder injury in a highside crash during last Tuesday’s test at Phillip Island and is not fit for the opening round.
The Spaniard still attempted to compete, riding in both free practice sessions held this Friday at the Australian circuit. However, after medical check-up, he was declared unfit to continue.
As a result, Lecuona cannot try to repeat last year’s results at Phillip Island – which was one of his strongest rounds. Team HRC will be left with only Xavi Vierge.
