Jorge Lorenzo recently spoke on “The Wild Project” podcast about how he is enjoying his retirement from MotoGP.
Speaking on the podcast, the former Spanish rider began by talking about his life after MotoGP.
– I don’t go out much, but when I do, I do it well. I control the amount of alcohol; alcohol can give you a bit of happiness. But if you drink a lot of alcohol regularly, the effect wears off, so you have to control it. Alcohol is also a drug. But it’s allowed and I try not to abuse it, but when I go out partying it gives you a certain happiness
He added that he was better known in Indonesia than in Spain or Italy: “In Indonesia, they know me better than in Spain and Italy. There, both Yamaha and Honda sell more than 4 million scooters every year and the image is the Yamaha MotoGP riders. They made us go there two or three times a year and we appeared on the main television in a commercial with the scooters. But of course we’re not seen by 5 million people like in Spain, where there are 400 million, which means we’re seen by 25 million people on main television. So when I go there as a tourist to a shopping center in Jakarta, 99% of people know me, even after five years of retirement.
