In 2024, Marc Márquez will be riding a Ducati for Gresini Racing. Despite not being directly associated with the manufacturer, he’s still part of a satellite team, and his arrival doesn’t seem to be unanimously welcomed among Ducati fans – as evidenced by recent boos when his name was mentioned at the Campioni in Festa event.
Paolo Campinoti, Prima Pramac’s leader, admitted to Paddock TV that the six-time premier class champion isn’t particularly well-received within a manufacturer that has several riders linked to Valentino Rossi: ‘For better or worse, in the Ducati world, there are many riders affiliated to Rossi’s VR46, and let’s say the Márquez family isn’t well regarded. There will still be confusion within the confusion’.
It’s worth noting that the relationship between Márquez and Rossi will forever be marked by the controversial events of the 2015 Malaysian Grand Prix, both at a personal level and in the public perception.
