Indian Motorcycles reveals the next evolution of the Scout model for the year 2025. After ten years of service, during which it has been able to expand Indian’s audience of enthusiasts, the Scout as we knew it is about to be replaced by a completely new platform that skillfully retains not only the recognizability of this model, but all the features that made it so popular, while implementing them. This new line demonstrates the search for the ideal combination between a strongly recognizable design, balanced power and cutting-edge technology focused on the rider and riding pleasure, thus keeping alive the legacy of one of the brand’s best-loved models. During the presentation, the Indian representatives repeated several times: evolution, evolution in every respect, not revolution.
To understand the importance of this new addition to the Indian family, you only have to look at the sales figures. The Scout, in its various variants, has been the best-selling bike in the range since 2015 and alone accounts for 40% of Indian’s sales. A percentage that rises to 50% if we don’t consider the US market, but only exports. In short, around the world, one in two people who buy an Indian is the Scout model. It’s also worth noting that 93% of new Indian customers choose a Scout, which means it’s the brand’s winning model. It should also be noted that almost a third of those who buy a Scout, 28% to be precise, are new or first-time motorcyclists. In total, more than 100,000 Scouts have been sold in these ten years. It was clear that such a successful design could not be changed and an experienced designer like Ola Stenegärd was needed to lead the team. But it needed to evolve and become even more attractive, so here we are with the new generation.
The most incredible aspect, perhaps, is that at first glance it appears to be the same “old” Scout we know. Instead, everything has been changed! Let’s start with the engine. At the heart of this new Scout is a liquid-cooled 1250 cc twin-cylinder called SpeedPlus, which delivers 82 kW of power and over 109 Nm of torque, +11% and +14% respectively compared to its predecessor. The new tubular steel frame has been designed not only to respond to a precise stylistic logic with references to the curves of the Indians of the past, but also to be dynamic thanks to its lightness and practical thanks to the high possibility of customization with interchangeable parts. The very low seat is retained, always one of the Scout’s points of pride and one of the reasons why it manages to attract even many novice riders. Of course, there’s no shortage of ABS, traction control and riding modes.
The Indian Scout 2025 range features five different models, each with a unique character that adapts to the different souls of motorcyclists:
Scout Bobber: Stripped down and with an aggressive stance, the Scout Bobber is the ideal expression of the iconic bobber style.
Sport Scout: Inspired by history, but redesigned for today’s style, the Sport Scout brings a more aggressive spirit to the Scout range.
Scout Classic: A meeting point between design inspired by the past and the needs of today’s American cruiser riders, with top chrome and extended wings.
Super Scout: Designed for the open road, with saddlebags, windshield and passenger seat as standard for maximum comfort.
101 Scout: Indian Motorcycle’s highest performance Scout ever, with premium components such as USD adjustable suspension and Brembo brakes. Power here rises from 105 to 111 hp.
For the year 2025, the Indian Scout family is available in three levels of technological equipment:
Standard: Offers an affordable option with ABS, LED lighting and updated instrumentation.
Limited: Adds traction control, cruise control and selectable riding modes.
Limited +Tech: At the top of the range, it introduces the 101 mm touchscreen with GPS navigation, riding statistics and advanced connectivity.
