Fabio Quartararo was very unhappy with the actions of the Italian MotoGP Grand Prix stewards after the accident he suffered in the Sprint race, which left him out of the race on the second lap.
At turn ten, Miguel Oliveira (Trackhouse Racing/Aprilia) was right behind the Frenchman in 16th position and made an attempt to overtake, which led to a collision that caused both riders to crash and abandon the race on the spot.
Later, Quartararo went to the stewards’ room to make it clear that consistent decisions are needed, considering that in a similar incident involving him at the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix, he was penalized.
When asked about the response he gets from the stewards when seeking clarification, the 2021 champion replied: ‘I go out more confused than when I come. It looks like I’m talking to someone who has never been racing. So this is sad and I think we have to get more professional people’.
