Miguel Oliveira finished in 12th place once again in a challenging Indian MotoGP. This Sunday, the CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team rider didn’t have many opportunities to perform better in the main race and faced difficulties.
The Portuguese explained to the press: ‘It was a hard race. I couldn’t be competitive during the all weekend. Now during the race was more obvious that our weak points were really standing out: exit of slow corners, the acceleration there wasn’t really the best. So we had to make up time in other places where we maybe put the front tyre more in crisis, etc.. Nothing else, really’.
On the other hand, Oliveira also regret the qualifying session and admitted that, for the first time in 2023, he couldn’t overcome the difficulties: ‘It’s also a shame that I couldn’t qualify better. That’s it. It really was the first weekend where I really struggled and I couldn’t turn the things around for me. I’m looking forward to just go to Japan and see what we can do there’.
When asked if the different tires for the Indian GP could be the cause of the lack of competitiveness, #88 replied: ‘It could be a combination of this carcass and the rubber. Probably we struggled for that reason somehow. Probably the combination of both things: carcass and bike’.
