Jorge Martín finished the Sprint race in second place. The Spanish rider was once again ahead of his rival, Francesco Bagnaia, and managed to win precious points for the championship.
In his debrief, the Prima Pramac Racing driver spoke about the race: “I got off to a very bad start, we have to figure out what happened. The worst thing apart from the start was the braking, I had very high front tire pressure, but I still managed to recover and overtake Pecco. Today Álex had something more than us, but the aim was to stay ahead of Pecco after losing so many positions at the start and I managed to be faster than Pecco. We have to understand what Álex has best on the bike, he was very confident with his front braking and tire pressure, we have to see how we can improve for tomorrow’s race. The pace tomorrow will be lower because not only is it impossible to ride at this pace for the whole race physically, but the tires can’t handle the whole race at this pace.
The Spanish rider also spoke about the riders’ adaptation to tire pressure and the impact it is having on the competitiveness of the championship. Jorge also spoke about Álex Márquez and tomorrow’s race.
– “It’s a shame we can’t ride at 100% because of the tire pressure, because at the end of the day if the pressure isn’t right I can’t show my potential. You have to understand the drivers’ side because if the pressure isn’t right you’re out of the race and they’re destroying the races like this, if it continues like this next year it will be disastrous. I think tomorrow’s race will be completely different, if Álex has the same pace as today for 10 or 12 laps he’ll win for sure’.
