Francesco Bagnaia could be crowned champion at the Cheste track in the Valencian GP, the last race of this MotoGP World Championship season. The spanish rider has extended his lead over Jorge Martin and now has a 21-point cushion when 37 points are at stake. Is everything sealed as far as the champion in the premier speed category is concerned?
‘The world championship became more difficult for Jorge Martin after the race in Losail, but it’s not impossible. A lot of things could happen in the race. The title is still possible, although Martin will arrive in Valencia in a different position to the one he would have liked. I think we’re going to have a very intense race, in which the championship could be decided in the last race of the season and for the public it will be the best thing that could happen’, Alex Criville told Marca.
The former rider also emphasises that if he has a cooler head, he will have a slight advantage: ‘The mentality before and during the race will be crucial. Each of us will have to adapt our own strategy and give everything in a race that promises to be very emotional’ concluded the former 500cc champion.
