The 2024 edition of the Africa Eco Race started this Tuesday with an Italian victory. Jacopo Cerutti claimed the top spot in the first stage in the bikes, riding for Aprilia.
The Italian completed the 173.56km timed stage from Nador to Boudnib in 1h54m09s, beating fellow Italian Alessandro Botturi (Yamaha Ténéré World Raid Team) by 1m47s. In third place was the other official rider from the Japanese manufacturer, Pol Tarres, trailing the winner by 1m50s.
Following in the top five were Guillaume Borne (Casteu Trophy/Husqvarna), competing at home in Morocco, and Alexander Vaudan (Casteu Trophy/KTM). Attilio Fert (France Road Book/KTM) secured the sixth position, while Giovanni Gritti (RS Moto Team Honda Oil) finished seventh. Juan Pedrero Garcíar rode the official Harley Davidson to eighth place, 12m51s behind the winner.
