The last four participants for the second qualifying for the Moto3 Thai Grand Prix have been determined. Joel Kelso was the fastest in Q1 in Buriram, and he was joined in advancing to Q2 by David Muñoz, Stefano Nepa, and Adrián Fernández.
Many riders delayed their initial flying laps, and with ten minutes remaining, Muñoz (BOE Motorsports/KTM), Krittapat Keankum (Yamaha Thailand Racing BOE/KTM), and David Salvador (CIP Green Power/KTM) were the only ones with timed laps.
Seven minutes before the end, the riders waiting for each other engaged in an unsportsmanlike scene, riding slowly alongside the track. Meanwhile, a rain flag was displayed.
With five minutes to go before the checkered flag, Kelso (CFMoto Racing PrüstelGP) led the pack, with Muñoz in second, Nepa (Angeluss MTA Team/KTM) in third, and Adrián Fernández (Leopard Racing/Honda) in fourth. Xavier Artigas (CFMoto Racing PrüstelGP) was fifth, just 0.076s away from the qualifying zone.
Until the end, the positions remained unchanged as no one managed to put a full lap together despite some riders posting fast sector times. Therefore, Kelso, Muñoz, Nepa, and Fernández secured the last four spots in Q2.
