Jorge Martín again, here he is making history and winning pole position: the Spaniard is the first ever in MotoGP to ride within 29 seconds!
The first fast laps soon appeared in this Q2 at Le Mans and Jorge Martín took the lead with 1:30.141s, a difference of 0.330s over Francesco Bagnaia.
Maverick Viñales reached second provisionally but Martín had his sights set on second 29 and there it is: for the first time ever in Le Mans a time was recorded in second 29 and who else but Martín would do his thing again?! Incredible… Bagnaia was still second but now at 0.192s, with Viñales in third at 0.520s. Aleix Espargaró was fourth and Pedro Acosta fifth, with the session reaching the halfway point.

The riders went to the garage and prepared the final attack on pole position, with them heading out onto the track with the clock showing 6:30 to the end of the session.
With two and a half minutes to go Martín went to the ground and, a minute later, it was Bagnaia’s turn, who could say goodbye to his hattrick of pole positions in Le Mans.
The yellow flags continued to appear, after the falls of Aleix Espargaró and then Enea Bastianini who was in great form and threatening Martín’s time…
However, the session would end shortly afterwards.
