Jorge Martín was the MotoGP World Championship runner-up, fighting for the title with Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) until the last round of the season. However, he will not have the opportunity to move from Prima Pramac to the Ducati factory team in 2024.
During the Valencian GP, the Spanish rider stated that if his performance this year wasn’t enough to prove he deserves a factory seat, it would be difficult to demonstrate it.
In response to these statements, Ducati Corse’s general manager, Gigi Dall’Igna, agreed that Martín deserves to be in the factory team – although it is currently not feasible:
– I agree with him. He did a fantastic job this year and he deserves the factory team for sure. But, you know, there are some contracts in place, there are many things that are impossible to change.
