With just over five hours left, Jorge Martín leads the MotoGP testing day in Valencia. This marks the beginning of preparations for the 2024 season, with several novelties in the lineup and new components on various bikes.
On his best lap, Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) clocked in at 1m30.325s, putting him 44 thousandths of a second ahead of Álex Márquez (Gresini/Ducati). Two-time champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) follows in third, 0.137s behind, with Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM) close behind.
One of the major highlights is Marc Márquez’s debut on the Gresini Ducati. So far, the Spaniard is showing speed in this initial contact with the bike, currently posting the fifth-best time, 0.358s behind Martín.
Fabio Di Giannantonio, who is joining Mooney VR46 for the first time, is currently in 12th place. Making his debut with Monster Energy Yamaha, Álex Rins is currently in 14th place, while Johann Zarco is clocking his first kilometers with Honda LCR and is in 16th. Meanwhile, Luca Marini, entering Repsol Honda, sits in 19th place ahead of the sole rookie – Pedro Acosta (GasGas Tech3/KTM). Franco Morbidelli is in 22nd place as he gets acquainted with Pramac’s Ducati.
