Jorge Martín came close to winning the MotoGP Sprint race at the British Grand Prix. The Prima Pramac rider finished second in Silverstone this Saturday, just behind Enea Bastianini (Ducati).
The #89 told the official championship website that it was a tough race, where he had to deal with fuel consumption issues: ‘For sure it’s a positive day. It has been a positive weekend overall. Still I don’t feel at 100% with the bike. It was a difficult race – I think more than we expected. I had some issues with the fuel consumption, so I had to race with less power during the race, this was not good’.
When asked if he had to change the engine mapping during the race, Martín confirmed: ‘I had to change, because if not I couldn’t make it to the end. Hopefully tomorrow we can make better’.
On the other hand, the Spaniard admitted that there are aspects of his riding that need improvement: ‘I missed a bit of confidence in braking for some corners. So we need to make a step for tomorrow, I hope we can solve it with the medium rear [tyre]. And if not we will try to make some changes’.
