Racing at home, Jorge Prado dominated the qualifying race of the MXGP of Spain this Saturday. The second round of the MXGP Motocross World Championship took place at the Intu Xanadú circuit in Arroyomolinos.
The Spanish rider from Red Bull GasGas took the lead of the race in the first lap. In the initial phase, his main pursuer was Maxime Renaux (Monster Energy Yamaha), who lost the position to Tim Gajser (Team HRC) on the fourth lap.
From then on, the top three positions remained unchanged. Prado controlled the proceedings and won with a 13.320s lead over Gajser, with Renaux finishing third, 16.278s behind. The top five was completed by Jeffrey Herlings (Red Bull KTM) and Glenn Coldenhoff (Fantic Factory Racing).
