Jorge Prado continues to dominate the 2024 season of the MXGP Motocross World Championship. This Saturday, he left no room for doubt in the qualifying race of the MXGP of Sardegna, the third round of the season.
In Riola Sardo, the Spanish rider from Red Bull GasGas took the lead of the qualifying race right from the start. Tim Gajser (Team HRC) remained his main pursuer, but he couldn’t match the same pace – in the end, Prado won with a clear 6.628s margin.
Third place went to Jeffrey Herlings (Red Bull KTM), after prevailing in a battle with Jeremy Seewer (Kawasaki), which he decided in his favor with a pass on the fifth lap. The Dutch rider then managed to secure third place but finished a distant 25.730s behind the winner.
Seewer crossed the finish line in fourth place, despite ending the race under pressure from Pauls Jonass (Standing Construct Honda). The Latvian rider surpassed Calvin Vlaanderen (Monster Energy Yamaha) on the second lap and remained in fifth place for most of the race.
