Jorge Prado began the new season of the MXGP Motocross World Championship by dominating from the start. The champion of the previous year won the first race of the MXGP of Patagonia Argentina this Sunday in Villa La Angostura.
Already in the first lap, the Spanish rider from Red Bull GasGas took the lead, from where he never looked back. Throughout the race, he distanced himself from his rivals. Initially, Maxime Renaux (Monster Energy Yamaha) was the one keeping up with Prado, but the Frenchman was overtaken by Romain Febvre (Kawasaki) on the fourth lap and ended up losing another position.
With no rivals able to challenge him, Prado emerged as the winner with a 9.547-second lead over Febvre, while Pauls Jonass (Standing Construct Honda) surpassed Renaux on the eighth lap to secure third place. After dominating the qualifying race, Tim Gajser (Team HRC) fell out of the top ten in the first lap but managed to recover to fifth place.
