Kawasaki’s list of revamped models for 2024 includes its famous adventure and dual-sport bikes, such as the Versys range, as well as the robust and reliable KLR 650 range. For 2024, Team Green has kept the performance characteristics and underpinnings of the bikes, but slightly updated them in terms of style and design.
Starting with the Versys-X 300, this model is the smallest of Kawasaki’s adventure bikes on the North American market and has the same 296 cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine found in the now-discontinued Ninja 300. The Versys-X 300 keeps things simple and functional, with a low seat height that ensures accessibility for a wide range of riders, a high windshield for protection against wind on the road and a practical luggage compartment at the rear.
Meanwhile, for those looking for more focused adventures on the road, the Versys 650 LT is returning in 2024 and retains all the tried and tested features we know from its predecessors. It has a 649 cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine derived from the Ninja, and the unmistakable Versys dashboard, which resembles a Ninja.
As before, it has 17-inch wheels with road tires and an upright seating position with a high windshield. The Versys 650 LT leaves the factory with Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), a color screen with smartphone connectivity and full LED lighting.
Next, for those who like to explore beyond the limits of the asphalt, the KLR range is ideal for you. The KLR650 returned in 2022 after a long hiatus. As it turned out, there is a place in the market for a robust and simple adventurer, and it looks like this will continue to be the case in 2024. As before, the bike has a 652 cc single-cylinder engine housed in a high-strength steel frame. The base version has no electronics except for the optional ABS.
For shorter riders or people who just want more ground clearance, the KLR 650 S offers just that. Kawasaki has lowered the bike’s suspension to provide a lower seat height, although sacrificing some ground clearance.
Last but not least, the KLR 650 Adventure is equipped with a variety of accessories that are sure to please the most demanding adventurers. You get increased load capacity with pre-installed side bags, greater visibility with LED auxiliary lights, additional protection in the form of engine guards and convenient amenities such as a DC power plug and a USB socket. It also comes equipped with ABS as standard for greater safety on the road.
