KTM appeared at the MotoGP test in Jerez last week with new solutions for their bike. All factory riders (including those from Red Bull GasGas Tech3) were on track, as well as the test riders.
When asked by the official MotoGP website if the manufacturer worked with a new chassis provided to the test riders in Jerez, team manager Francesco Bagnaia remained secretive. However, he confirmed that Dani Pedrosa and Pol Espargaró are engaged in different work:
– With the factory riders we are doing a job for the short term. With Dani and Pol we are doing a different kind of job for the medium term. So this is something we want to keep still confidential until we make a decision in one way or the other.
After four Grand Prix races, KTM is in second place in the Constructors’ World Championship, 38 points behind Ducati, and has only missed the podium once. In the team standings, Red Bull KTM is fifth, just ahead of Red Bull GasGas Tech3. As for the best rider among the four on the RC16, it’s Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GasGas Tech3) in fourth place.
