The NASCAR Cup Series paddock is gearing up to return to racing at the historic oval of Indianapolis Motor Speedway this season, replacing the circuit race that the Indy 500 track has hosted in recent years. Recently, NASCAR organized a testing session at the track, with the two-time Cup champion taking part.
The test did not go as planned for Richard Childress Racing driver, as he had an accident even though he was not under pressure. Discussing the incident, Kyle Busch mentioned that he lost control while driving and ended up hitting the wall. He emphasized that, despite the incident, he had a good time in Indy.
Kyle Busch had an accident during tire testing at Indy. The accident was not related to the tires. He explained what happened and his experience returning to the oval at the Brickyard.
The future Hall of Famer is going through one of the most challenging periods of his career in terms of performance. He has not been able to consistently compete for wins as he usually does, and the past few weeks have been particularly tough for him. The Indy accident is just another disappointment to add to Busch’s list.
The Joe Gibbs Racing veteran and former teammate of Kyle Busch also took part in the tests at Indy. Although he enjoyed the experience like Busch, he does not have high expectations for the event after the tire test. He mentioned that he does not expect the usual exciting racing style at the Brickyard.
It will be interesting to see how the races unfold at the Indy Oval, as fans have high hopes for the Brickyard 400. If the races do not meet expectations, this could potentially impact the race date for the iconic track.
