LiveWire’s listing on the stock exchange marked not only the moment when the relaunch of the brand spun off from Harley-Davidson began a journey that has led – so far – to the presentation of the S2 Mulholland, but also the entry of Kymco’s share capital, with 4%, through the injection of 100 million dollars.
On that occasion, the Arrow platform was also presented, i.e. the powertrain with structural functions on which the LiveWire range would grow and which we see today in the American manufacturer’s S2 Del Mar and S2 Mulholland. But it was also an opportunity to make it clear that lighter models made in partnership with Kymco, the S3, would arrive in the future.
This moment seems to be getting closer and closer: Kymco has presented some concepts over the years, such as the RevoNex and SuperNex, but in reality these two bikes never made it past the prototype stage. However, the recent discovery by Cycleworld colleagues of some Kymco patent drawings that associate the RevoNex aesthetic with the Arrow platform may indicate that the arrival of the hypothetical S3 may now be almost certain.
From the drawings we can see an aesthetic/technical layout close to the RevoNex, which nevertheless differs from what has been shown in previous concepts precisely because of the frame, which definitely seems to be the Arrow monocoque structure that includes the electric motor and batteries, and the seat would also be totally different from what has been seen on other bikes based on the same platform. In its latest evolution, the LiveWire S2 Mulholland, the Arrow platform has interesting characteristics and performance: 63 kW (84 hp) and 263 Nm of torque and a top speed of 160 km/h with acceleration from 0 to 100 in 3.3 seconds, with a range of around 194 km, although it is not at all certain that these figures reflect the performance of the future S3. Incidentally, the S4 is also expected: a bike that will probably represent a substantial evolution of the first LiveWire.
